Local Anaesthetic Doses and Toxicity Management
This card features the maximum safe doses for commonly used local anaesthetic preparations. Hopefully your surgical registrar buys one, so they have their own answer to "Is 20ml of Marcaine ok?"
The other side features a treatment algorithm for Local Anaesthetic Systemic Toxicity (LAST). You really shouldn't be without this card if you use local anaesthetics.
Please note, this is an aide memoire only. It is your responsibility to know and prescribe safe doses, particularly in the obese, extremes of age, illness pregnancy etc. Please check all calculations before using this card.
Specifications
All cards are printed on superior quality PVC cards with a professional card printer. The cards are durable 1mm thick credit card size (CR80). They are fade resistant, water proof and can even be sanitised by light cleaning with an alcohol swab - perfect for those times when you forget to remove your lanyard during a PR exam!
